Science-led solar cleaning

Everything it takes to keep a solar plant clean.

We clean when it pays, remove what water can’t, fix the water, and match the equipment to your panels. At least one deep clean a year, and data deciding the rest.

01 · Programme design

A cleaning schedule engineered for your plant.

Most plants clean on a fixed calendar. We work out how fast each part of your plant gets dirty and what that costs, then set the frequency, method and products that give you the most energy for every rand spent.

Soiling survey

Drone and walk-down inspections, soiling sensors and reference strings show what is on the glass and how fast it builds.

Frequency model

We balance lost yield against the cost of each clean to find the interval that costs you least.

Method and products

Manual, tractor or robotic cleaning, plain water or a product for bonded dirt, chosen per block.

Method statements

Step-by-step procedures, safety files and quality checklists, ready for your site manager to sign off.

02 · Contaminant removal

When water isn’t enough.

Cement and lime dust, hard-water scale, soot and baked-on droppings bond to the glass. We identify the contaminant, prove a product on a test patch, then treat, brush and rinse, using specialised chemicals from our chemical partners.

  • Contaminant identified on site
  • Test patch before any treatment
  • Warranty-safe products and methods
  • Optional anti-soiling protection
03 · Water for cleaning

The right water, where the panels are.

Many large plants sit far from clean water, and hard or salty water leaves scale behind. With our water partners we design and run desalination and filtration systems that supply low-mineral cleaning water on site.

More about water for cleaning

Water assessment

We test your borehole, municipal or trucked water and work out the volumes the programme needs.

A

Treatment design

Desalination, reverse osmosis, softening and filtration sized with our partners.

B

Storage

Tanks sized to the busiest week of the cleaning schedule.

C

Delivery

Bowsers and fill points placed so crews spend their time cleaning, not driving.

D

Less water per clean

Methods and products that use less water, and reuse where the site allows it.

04 · Field cleaning teams

Crews that get every row up to standard.

Our field teams are trained to clean solar plants safely and without damaging modules. They work to the programme, record every row and hand over a signed-off quality check.

  • Solar-specific induction and training
  • Method statement and safety file on every site
  • Every row cleaned is logged

Utility-scale ground mounts

Fixed-tilt and tracker rows, cleaned by tractor-mounted brushes, robots or crews.

Large C&I rooftops

Factory, warehouse and mall roofs, cleaned under a working-at-heights plan.

Restoration cleans

A deep first clean to bring a neglected plant back to standard before routine cleaning starts.

Flexible contracts

Once-off, seasonal or full-year programmes, priced per MWp per clean.

05 · Monitoring and optimisation

Data that keeps the schedule honest.

A schedule set once goes out of date as the seasons change. We track soiling and performance before and after every clean, and move cleans earlier or later when the numbers say so.

Soiling sensors

Sensors or clean reference strings that measure soiling loss every day.

Before and after checks

Performance compared across each clean, so you see what it delivered.

Monthly reporting

Energy recovered, water used, rows cleaned and any defects found.

Defect spotting

Cracked glass, hot spots and loose cables flagged for your O&M team.

Automation first

The right equipment for your panels.

We are equipment specialists. We match the cleaning method to your panels, rows and terrain, and automate wherever we can to remove human error and finish faster.

01 · Autonomous robots

Robots clean by themselves

Robots clean your plant on their own. RenewChem can supply them, and we set them up and service them.

02 · Robot-assisted crews

People with machines

Our people working with robots and vehicle-mounted brushes for long ground-mount rows.

03 · Manual cleaning

Trained crews

Trained crews where the site doesn’t allow machines: rooftops, tight rows and spot cleans.

Our main focus

At least one deep clean a year.

Heavily contaminated sites may need more than one. Between deep cleans, we can clean all year, or your team can.

1 · Full clean

Every panel on the plant, cleaned thoroughly.

2 · Remove scale and contaminants

Specialist chemicals take off hard-water limescale completely.

3 · Protect

An anti-static coating slows dust build-up and stops scale binding again.

Then: clean when it pays

Sensors and AI time every clean in between to your target return.

Why chemical cleaning stays with us

The wrong dilution ratio wastes chemicals and money, and can damage your panels. Specialist chemical cleaning is done only by our trained, certified crews. That keeps one source of responsibility for the result.

Your team stays

We work alongside your O&M team, not instead of it.

Full turnkey

We handle all cleaning, testing and reporting, all year. Ideal for sites with few O&M staff, so they can focus on what matters.

Shared

We do the deep cleans and chemical work. Your team does routine cleans, grass and fire breaks, and equipment.

Monitor and advise

We watch the data, point your team to underperforming areas and train your staff.
